Oldboy

oldboy

After being imprisoned in a nondescript room for 15 years without any explanation, an ordinary man (Brolin) has only five days and limited resources to discover why. Copley plays the villain. To say any more would spoil it, but this is a remake of the edgy and violent Korean masterpiece from 2003. While it can’t live up to that, Spike Lee is a credible director who will surely put his own spin on the material. The fact that so many name actors (Christian Bale, Colin Firth, Clive Owen) turned down the villain role, means it probably is keeping all the controversial scenes it promised to.

– i saw the Korean version, and i really loved it! I hope the americans won’t fail it! –
