After 17 years of waiting for a REAL Dragon ball Z movie, it finally came out! Yeah yeah, you’re going to tell me that there was a movie called: Dragon Ball: Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!  released in 2008 but that doesn’t count. We’re talking about an original Dragon Ball Z movie like the ones from the good old days.

We’ve been waiting for this movie, since the first teaser came out in July 2012. The big day arrived on March 30th, 2013 and after only two days, they made over 7 million dollars (U.S) . That makes them the #1 non-american movie on their first weekend and the movie is also in the top 5 spots in the worldwide and domestic ticket sales. This was the first time a movie was shown in digital IMAX in all of Japan. This movie could see the light of day thanks to Akira Toriyama along with Toei Animation and Fox International Productions Japan.

From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!!

Goku will be battling the God of destruction named Bills. This is going to take place 5 years after the battle against Buu but before the 28th world martials art tournament. When Goku hears about this cat, (Yes Bills has the appearance of a cat) he gets thrilled about challenging someone who is as powerful as Buu, like a true Saiyan. But how can a god be killed?

In a interview with IGN, Akira Toriyama said: “I wanted to fight two gods, a god of destruction and a god saiyan”.

Goku a God!? Well, that’s no surprise!Dragon-ball-Battle-of-gods-screenshot-dragon-ball-z-33750405-640-360Photo credit: Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods
