Halloween 2013 – 10 “Easy” Pop Geek Culture Costumes Ideas
Halloween is fast approaching and if you’re like me, you probably still don’t have any idea of what your costume will be. That’s why I decided to create a list of costumes that can be easy to pull off as a last minute idea. So here we go:
All you have to do is create the Sims plumbob (how you attach it to your head however, that’s entirely up to you).
Dig out your overalls and pick out a red or green shirt and you already have 80% of your costume done! Really the hardest part about this costume is finding a cap that fits well.
Chuck Bartowski (Chuck)
I know the show ended over a year ago, but it’s still pretty easy to pull of a Chuck costume and it hasn’t been that long for people to forget what you’re dress as.
Jax Briggs (Mortal Kombat)
Really, any of the “normal” humans from Mortal Kombat shouldn’t be too hard to pull off, but I thought this one was actually cool even if simple. You really just have to find something to paint your arms silver for the night.
Of all the superhero costumes, I think this is one of the easiest to do. Especially the Linda Danvers costume since all you need is a white shirt and blue skirt. And for once the costume available in Halloween costume shops is actually pretty close to the real comic costume (well before the New 52) and not just made to be seksy.
Katniss Everdeen / Peeta Mellark (Hunger Games)
Katniss and Peeta can be easy to do as they pretty much wear normal clothes. And if you’ve read Camm’s costume prop article, you know you can find the Mockinjay pin on Thinkgeek.com to complete your costume.
Alright so here’s one that works a lot better if you have a bunch of friends with you. You can all dress up as one character from the Rugrats! All of those costumes are pretty easy to do and how awesome would it be if all your friends are dressed as all the characters from the show? (Yes I do realize I used pictures of the Glee Cast who pull this off 2 years ago. It was awesome!)
Harry and Marv (Home Alone)
Another one that works better if you have a costume partner, Harry and Marv from Home Alone! This movie is a classic so I’m sure everyone will recognized the characters.
Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
If there’s one thing I really loved about the Tomb Raider reboot, is that for once, Lara isn’t that seksy looking which makes the costume easier to do. Then again, you do have to rip out some of your clothes to really get the look.
Again, I’m sure you already have everything you need for this costume somewhere at home. The only thing that you will probably miss is the faceless mask but I’m sure that can be found somewhere. (This is actually the costume I want to try to do)
